Vajra Academic

Vajra Academic is a peer-reviewed series that publishes books on all aspects of Tibetan and Himalayan civilisation with particular attention to the fields within Humanities and Social Sciences such as Anthropology, Archaeology, Art and Architecture, History, Languages and Linguistics and Religious Studies. Publication in Nepal will make it possible to produce high-quality volumes of an international scholarly standard, while remaining within an accessible price range.

All submissions within the scope of the series will be assessed by the five-member editorial board, and if considered publishable, will be forwarded to an expert in the relevant field for anonymous review. The reviewer will be given eight weeks to submit the report. In addition to specific comments, reviewers will be asked to state whether they recommend that the book should be a) accepted with minor changes, b) accepted with major (specified) changes, c) revised and resubmitted, or d) rejected, and to give reasons for their decision. The editorial board will then make the final decision, such that the author will hear back from the editor not more than twelve weeks after submitting their manuscript.
